I have not written anything here for a long time. Summer is still here and has been based in France for a major part of the summer. During the past year due to my assignments I have been able to be here more and in many ways it is also more convenient to go places in my variuos assignments in Europe.
I ended my CDO education at Kellogg Business School/Northwesterna University beginning of April. So worthwhile to have done this but like any education it needs to be put into practice otherwise it risks just being theories and that you fall back in old habits…
The spring in general always consists of boardperiods and now more than before in a challenging market with inflation and various costs going up. Although managments are proactive in reducing costs it sometimes is offset by other cost increases. We will see what this fall will entail and how the market will effect us. In my dermatology business it seems that we are less influeced by the downturns and there is still a good demand for our services in our markets.
For the past year I have also worked in a exciting project that hopefully will materialised during this fall. It has had some setbacks because of the uncertainty partly for that specific business but also the general uncertainty in the global markets.
Specifically I have been involved in the DD process together with the PE firm getting to know the business and the companies better. These starting DD processes is often the best period when you get to know each other and when you find a good dynamic for a possible future cooperation. But with with experience you also are better assessing the challenges that will come and are also better doing your own DD process of how you will fit in to this context and what hurdles that needs to pass to achieve the goals you set out to do.
Depending how the fall will turn out it will be some travelling anyhow both businesswise and for leisure to London, NYC, Miami, Chicago. I also hoping to spend new years and first days of the year in California both in LA and San Fransisco.
Spending the last days in south of France now and can do most of the meetings from here until the first boardmeetings for this fall will take place. Enclosing my morningview here every morning when I do my morningrun to St Paul de Vence for the day´s first coffee.
