Time flies

This week I handed in my last assignment for the 12 month education I have done at Northwestern University – Kellogg Business School. Can´t believe a year has flown by that fast with assigments every week and 5-8 hours spent per week on lectures and assignments. I has been a great learning journey and I am so glad I took the opportunity and did it. 🙏

Right now I am waiting for my certificate the for Chief Digital Officer education at Kellogg to be finalised and what is left is a networking event at Evanston this summer. I am glad I took a variety of courses after the 16 week basic program that we all went through in our cohort. After the basic course I took Design Thinking as one of my electives followed by Driving Organizational Change which I took “live” in Evanston. The last of my electives was Business Analytics which was more challenging but really good too. All courses has been excellent and I have learned so much doing this.

One of the best things is that I will be a better sparring partner both as boardperson and in my C-suite roles. Another thing is also, I can take on things myself in operational roles in a better way and use my newly acquired toolbox from this courses.

I would not call myself being a full fledged CDO by doing this course but I am on my way and in fact what the course was all about is to be a better leader and a change leader, which I have a lot of use in my roles working with entrepreneurs and PE companies. The first reason why I decided to take this course was that according to surveys 70% of all business (digital) transformation fail because of execution.

In the mean time there has been the regular work with boards and the management teams in the companies and I have mainly worked with the other project that hopefully will materialise this spring. There has been sitevisits and getting to know the organisation along with meeting with potential add-on acquisitions. We all soon need to make a decision if we will go ahead with the deal. I cannot do it on my own, of course, but we are all eager to do it my the uncertain times makes it harder to decide whether to do it now or wait.

Right now I am on my way to New York for business and pleasure but mainly pleasure and looking forward an exciting spring both at work and private. 💫
