In my own opinion I am often faced with the fact that when you talk about digtalisation, digitization etc in boardrooms, management teams and organisations there is often talks but you often fail to execute on the project (s), transformations etc since you have not put enough effort into executing on the strategy and if there even is a digital strategy or vision.
That got me looking into the opportunities to further develop myself and also to do some upskilling. I looked into two available training options at the moment that focuses more on digital transformations of existing business because in most cases this is where I am involved in my work.
That go me to apply for an CDO eduction – Chief Digitalt Officer – leading transformation where the main focus is in the implementation and on the leadership achieving that, hence back to the headline of this post.
In the end I decided to apply to Kellogg Business School in Evanston outside of Chicago where they have this hybrid education for 9-12 months with live sessions on Campus courses and a Capstone project at the end. The application process was smooth and I had to produce 4 different essays and I got accepted.
What I found interesting for me in this specific education is that it focus on execution on the vision/strategy, focus on leadship with my already achieved experience and to be able to upskill and learn new which will be useful in all my positions albeit if it is in a boardroom, in a managment team, as a CEO or as an intrim consultant. What is really good with specific education is that you need to practically apply the learnings to an existing company and project so I will be doing that in one of the companies I am chairman.
Of course I also look forward to the network internationally and also to be able to study at one of the top busines schools in the US and one out of the M7-Business Schools
This week I am starting the introduction segment for two weeks then a 16 consecutive week with the base courses will follow. Looking forward to this and will keep you posted here along with my other workduties!
